Leeds Film Festival to host three Iran short films

Three Iranian short films are to be screened at the Leeds International Film Festival at the UK.

A group of three recognized Iranian shorts at the international stature will screen at the Leeds Int’l Filmfest in the UK.

‘Retouch’ by Kaveh Mazaheri, Bahman and Bahram Ark’s ‘Animal’ and ‘Lunch Time’ directed by Alireza Ghasemi are the short films that are to be screened at the British Festival.

‘Retouch’ depicts the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

The 15-minute ‘Animal’ follows a man who wants to cross the border unlawfully; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.

‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

The Leeds International Film Festival is the largest film festival in England outside London.

Founded in 1987, it is held in November at various venues throughout Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The festival is scheduled to run on November 1-16, 2017.
